Daum Nancy Beech Autumn Vase Circa 1910
Beautiful vase from the famous Daum Nancy glassworks, flagship of the Art Nouveau movement, made between 1900 and 1910. With its 12 cm height, it presents a swollen cylindrical silhouette crowned with an elliptical opening, a detail which attests to a precise hot modeling. The quality of this piece lies in the alliance of complex techniques. The body of the vase is blown in multi-layered glass with a background shaded with yellow, a pale orange and a green. The naturalistic decoration of beech leaves in autumn is brought out by an acid cameo engraving and enhanced with a fine polychrome enameling. The work is signed Daum Nancy accompanied by the cross of Lorraine, engraved in reserve. This vase is in an excellent state of conservation. Its enamel shows no alteration or restoration. Height; 12 cm width: 14 cm depth 7 cm
