"XV Marquetry Desk "
Louis XV style desk in floral marquetry Elegant Louis XV style desk, with a curved top and a flowing apron, richly decorated with a marquetry of precious wood flowers on a rosewood background. The curved legs end in finely chiseled gilt bronze sabots, matching the decorative falls. The edge of the top is highlighted by a fine smooth gilt brass gallery, harmoniously following the sinuous line of the piece. The apron is decorated with a central shell and scroll motif. Beautifully crafted work, probably from the Napoleon III period (circa 1860–1880), in the style of Parisian master cabinetmakers of the 18th century.
