Biography:
Clément Gontier was born in 1876 in Lavaur in the Tarn and died in 1918 for France.
Painter of genre subjects, still lifes, flowers.
He was a student of JP Laurens. At 25, he came second in the painting competition for the Grand Prix de Rome and entered the École des Beaux Arts in Paris.
He was a member of the Salon des artistes Français, obtaining a third-class medal in 1904 and receiving the prize of the Académie Julian.
