Napoleon111 18ct Gold Earrings Set With Amethysts

A Napoleon 111 Pair of earrings, in 18ct gold set with faceted Amethysts, in a rich intense Violet.

These earrings are composed of three parts. The largest drop is in the middle.  The ffitting is original, that is to say, it is inserted from the back to the front.

Amethysts were very popular at that time, because new mines, for example, were discovered in Brazil. Whereas before they were only found in Siberia, they were extremely expensive and used only by the nobility and the Church.
