Brand 'VIREBENT/MODEL MOHY' under each piece.
Yves Mohy (1928-2004) is a French ceramist also trained in architecture. Established initially in the village of La Borne, a mecca of ceramics since the 12th century, he produces bowls, cups, vases and stoneware pitchers. Thanks to an article dedicated to him by the Revue des Arts Ménagers, Mohy gained notoriety and exhibited in several galleries during the 60s. It was also at this time that he collaborated with Virebent, a famous porcelain manufacturer, for whom he created prototypes. Subsequently, he taught at the Beaux-Arts in Bourges and Limoges before moving to the south in 1993, where he created pieces combining stoneware, wood, porcelain, and slate. The Musée de la Céramique de Sèvres as well as the Musée des Arts Décoratifs now conserve some of his works.
