"Regency Wall Console In Carved Oak - Paris Or Ile De France. 18th Century Period."
Beautiful work probably Parisian for this wall console of animated and finely sculpted form. It presents a cut-out, curved and openwork belt decorated with a quadrilobed rosette in the center; volutes and acanthus leaves. The two uprights have a very beautiful nervous movement, they are connected by a spacer surmounted by a shell. At the back, in the center, a flat, cut-out upright is sculpted. Top in red veined marble of cut shape and framed by a corbin beak. Restoration of use: tips of feet, a reinforcement at the back, marble formerly damaged and restored. The strength of the movement and the nervousness of the sculpture shows the quality of this console in this rocaille period
