This fantastic cabinet, designed for office use, has a distinctive design and a meticulously crafted construction for practicality. The top features 18 drawers, each of which can be pulled out. A mechanism allows the front to be lowered for easier access when consulting and removing documents. The drawers were perfectly sized to hold letters or small documents. Each drawer features elegant, engraved gold-plated brass handles on the front, designed with a space for a descriptive label to catalog the documents inside. The drawers could be locked with a locking mechanism on the sides. Note that the lock is present, but the original keys have been lost, so you will not be able to lock the drawers.
Towards the end of the drawers are two special pull-out shelves designed for placing and quickly and conveniently consulting documents removed from the drawers.
At the bottom, a rolling shutter opens to reveal three tall compartments for storing small books or documents that needed to be stored vertically.
Please note that some drawers have a defect on the front, consistent with age and wear. This prevents them from closing properly, but it does not compromise the overall aesthetic. Please carefully examine all the photos. There are also some signs of wear on the inside of the drawers.
In conclusion, this 1920s office furniture piece retains the quality of Italian furniture manufacturing and a unique historical charm.
