"Glazed Stoneware Soliflore Vase, Manufacture Nationale De Sèvres, Dated 1900"
Glazed stoneware soliflore vase, Manufacture nationale de Sèvres, dated 1900 Glazed stoneware soliflore vase with an ovoid body and narrow neck, made by the Manufacture nationale de Sèvres in 1900, as evidenced by the triangular mark "S 1900" under the base. The decoration is characterized by a crystallized glaze in a palette of natural tones — beige, brown, and cream — forming punctuated patterns evoking mineral or organic formations. The bottom of the piece is covered with a speckled brown glaze, while the upper part is adorned with a more diffuse crystallization, giving the whole an impression of lightness and movement. The thin lip is highlighted with a turquoise line. This type of glaze testifies to the technical research carried out at Sèvres at the end of the 19th century in the wake of Japanese influences and Art Nouveau.
