19th Century Conjurer's Clock

Exceptional polychrome spelter clock depicting a magician and strongman acrobat. He is accompanied by his learned dog and at his feet we can see a weight and dumbbells; On the table in the center are placed cups for playing three-card shells as well as other magic objects. The sides and the top are decorated with vines and grapes and we also see a violin, tambourine, a megaphone and a bell to call passers-by. On each side a sign saying: COME SEE and IT'S AT 10 C Scene very representative of street shows from the end of the 18th and 19th centuries The dial has small defects and the hands are missing. At the back the spelter tab stabilizing the clock has a slight lack which does not prevent it from being stable.
