Elegant 18th century chest of drawers with curved front and sides, in rosewood veneer, opening on the front with three drawers with locks and keys. It rests on curved legs decorated with finely chiseled and gilded bronze sabots. Aleppo breccia marble top. Stamped Jean-Charles SAUNIER. Carpenter - cabinetmaker in Paris. Received Master on August 27, 1743. He was the son of Charles SAUNIER and he kept his father's workshop on rue du faubourg Saint-Antoine. He was part of the jurande of his community between 1750 and 1752. This explains the JME stamp.
