"Louis XV Chest Of Drawers, Early Transition."
Louis XV period chest of drawers with curved front and sides, uprights with pinched sides, opening with four drawers in three rows on visible support crosspieces; it is inlaid on all sides with a Greek-style decoration, in rosewood, amaranth and boxwood, on an oak and softwood frame with oak framing. This is embellished with a beautiful ornamentation of finely chiseled and gilded bronzes, such as keyholes, falls, lamp bases and rocaille leaf sabots. The whole is topped with a sheet of gray Ardennes marble. Balance, elegance and quality are the most appropriate terms for this chest of drawers from the second period of the reign of Louis XV, at the beginning of the so-called Transition period. It is worth noting the great care taken with the connecting elements of impeccable quality. This piece of furniture has undergone a perfect restoration such as stabilization of raised veneer, cleaning and finishing with French polish.
