Portrait of a gentleman of quality, circa 1760, French school. The subject wears a short, curly powdered wig. The slightly pink skin, the soft model of the face and the sobriety of the background are typical of the French bourgeois tradition of portraiture, centered on the physiognomy and dignity of the model.
