About the house SOUBRIER: Founded in 1848, the cabinetmaking house Soubrier specialized during the second half of the 19th century in the creation of period furniture, characteristic of the production of the workshops of the Faubourg Saint-Antoine at this period. Equipped with large carpentry workshops and vast exhibition spaces, the house offers its clientele, from the upper and middle classes, furniture of all types, drawing their forms and ornaments from the styles of the past, mainly from the Renaissance and the 18th century. The Soubrier house continued this production of period furniture in the 20th century, while also producing, from the 1920s, furniture responding to the aesthetics of its time and the lines of the Art Deco movement.
