Terracotta Head, Sokoto Culture, Nigeria (500 Bc / +500 Ad)
Head representing an ancestor through an imposing figure of a bearded man. This beard is long and checkered. The nose is slightly asymmetrical and the eyes are hollowed out. The neck is decorated with a multitude of rings symbolizing numerous necklaces and the important status of the person represented.
Terracotta (some missing parts).
