Giulio di Pietro di Filippo de Gianuzzi or Giulio Pippi de' Giannuzzi, known as Giulio Pippi] then Giulio Romano, also known in France under the French name of Jules Romain. Born in Rome around 1492 or 1499, and died in Mantua on November 1, 1546. He was a painter, architect and decorator, one of the first Mannerist artists and Raphael's favorite student.
