"Japanese Lacquered Bark Tray Negoro - Japan"
Large tray made of wood bark covered with lacquered textile and underside with feet in negoro lacquer. The lacquerer left the weave of the textile visible on the front, contrasting singularly with the negoro lacquer back. This piece is not signed but the techniques used prove that the artist has a perfect mastery of the different types of lacquer. Japan, circa 1950, 38 x 19 x 5 cm.
