Object description :

"Rare Collection Of Sevenframes Of "cameo Prints" In Terracotta, 19th Century "grand Tour""
Purchased together I find that this collection of Cameos in the image of the Gods and Goddesses of the Grand Tour, constitutes a unique set and a decorative panel presented together; a beautiful idea for wall decoration in the spirit of a "Cabinet of Curiosity" in a refined and tasteful Neo-Classical spirit; these subjects have educational use of mythological subjects, a souvenir of the "Grand Tour", where the Companions of Duty and Students in Artistic School trained their Eyes and developed their artistic creation in this journey in the Italian peninsula, marking their various stages with brought back souvenirs. Preserved in false bindings or boxes, these prints were trophies, in the nostalgia of their apprenticeship. Brought together in different frames from the beginning of the 19th century and in stuccoed gilded wood, these pretty pieces in good condition constitute a very beautiful and very chic set
