Opaline Carafe By Jean-baptiste Desvignes
Transparent white opaline carafe decorated in gold and silver by Jean-Baptiste Desvignes. Established between 1817/1826 at 28 rue de Lancry in Paris, this craftsman (J. Baptiste Desvignes) can be described as the greatest decorator on crystal, an activity for which he obtained a patent in 1817. The great particularity is the cold application of gilding, silvering and even colors. Very good general condition, wear on the gilding. H. 25cm.
