Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver Mother-of-pearl Nautilus Sauce Boat, 20th Century

Decorative Nautilus bowl or sauceboat, solid silver setting (925 Sterling) signed Tiffany & Co*, mother-of-pearl shell, early 20th century. This nautilus is in good condition and is of remarkable quality. Hallmarked and signed under the foot. Please note: traces of glue on the foot (see red arrow), some original defects in the shell, slight scratches and wear from time, see photos. * Tiffany & Co. is an American jewelry and tableware company, founded by Charles Lewis Tiffany (father of Louis Comfort Tiffany) and John B. Young on September 18, 1837 in Manhattan, New York. Originally selling various luxury goods in Lower Manhattan, Tiffany has specialized in jewelry, and diamonds in particular, since Charles Lewis Tiffany, nicknamed The Diamond King, purchased the French Crown Jewels in 1887. Tiffany created many jewelry designs in the Art Deco and Art Nouveau styles. Since 1940, the main Tiffany store has been located in New York City on Fifth Avenue at the corner of 57th Street.
