Small Bronze Apothecary's Or Gunsmith's Crucible, 15th Or 16th Century
Beautiful little crucible, cast from airain, (food bronze alloy) size of a small flared bowl of 8.5cm, heavy hexagonal handle allowing a wooden grip, this handle is marked XXI in Roman numerals; 3 goat feet to place the whole on embers.
Utilitarian and simply beautiful object…. Good condition; dark patina, slight deformation, but no breakage or scars.
Classic shape whose origin is probably Nuremberg, end of Gothic period.
Dimensions: 16cm x 10cm x 8.5cm. Weight: 700gr
