Object description :

"Miniatures Fixed Under Glass After Joseph Vernet, Early 19th Century "
Pair of miniatures "fixed under glass" representing a storm along the Mediterranean coast. Animated by numerous characters, ships and lighthouses. The whole reminds us of the works of Joseph Vernet, but also of Charles Francois Lacroix of Marseille. Both marine painters in the 18th century. Beautiful work fixed under glass, circled in gilded bronze in a blackened wooden frame. Note: some slight detachments around the edge.
