Bronze bust with brown patina representing Charles Tantet signed on the left shoulder José Clara, founder H Andro in Paris, chaser Armand Prou. Charles Tantet (1841-1911) is a French textile industrialist and politician. From 1890 he was elected mayor of the 3rd arrondissement of Paris then General Councilor of the Seine in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris. It was his colleagues at the Paris city hall who offered him this bust in 1904. Josep Clara I Ayats is an artist from the province of Girona in Spain, in 1897 he entered the fine arts in France, he will be the student of Barrias, Coutan, Rodin and the friend of Maillol. Living in Paris, he exhibited regularly at the salons. He also exhibits in Berlin, London, Rome, Barcelona... Many of his works are kept in prestigious international museums such as the Rena Sofia in Madrid, the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, but also in Cuba, Argentina, Chile and of course in his native region of Barcelona.
