Founded in 1880 in Paris by Dutchman Jean-Henri Jansen, Maison Jansen is considered the first interior design firm with an international reach. It successfully combined traditional furniture with contemporary trends, incorporating influences such as Anglo-Japanese style, the Arts & Crafts movement, and Turkish style. Under the direction of Stéphane Boudin, it completed prestigious projects, including the renovation of the White House under John F. Kennedy and the decoration of the Laeken Palace for King Leopold II of Belgium. Maison Jansen also collaborated with figures such as Coco Chanel and the Rothschild and Vanderbilt families. Its creations, combining classic elegance and modernity, remain prized by collectors and demonstrate its lasting influence on interior design.
