"Puiforcat: Baccarat Crystal And Solid Silver Cup Circa 1880."
Exceptional bowl or centerpiece from Maison PUIFORCAT in solid silver and Baccarat crystal, circa 1880. With a diameter of 21 cm and a height of 8 cm, this Baccarat crystal bowl is cut with the iconic motifs of a star and garlands of balls topped with foliage. The body of the bowl is beaded. The 1st title silver setting is hallmarked with a minerva, and flanked by the Maison PUIFORCAT silversmith's hallmark (EP and a penknife). The decoration reflects the archetypes of the Louis XVI style: the balconied rim is adorned with hanging laurel garlands, a frieze with bows and ribbons, and is topped with an antique guilloché pattern forming the rim of the bowl. Exceptional condition. A rare piece in the tableware, which reflects the joint work of the best craftsmen of this period, with the noblest materials. BACCARAT, PUIFORCAT, STERLING SILVER.
