Late 18th Century Landscape Painting With Figures

A refined oil painting on canvas, framed in gilded and ebonized carved wood. The painting depicts a hilly landscape with a forest, within which we can glimpse architecture and figures. At the center is a mill, surrounded by water, with trees and other figures arranged around it. In the foreground are two figures, a man and a woman, walking, dressed in exquisite period clothing, with two dogs beside them. Behind them, on the right, is a group of young people engaged in conversation; on the left, further away, are two more figures, a man and a woman, also dressed with elegant austerity. In this work, the artist masters the chiaroscuro technique and a realistic painting style. This is a valuable painting, capable of furnishing any space with taste and refinement.
