This magnificent and important Louis XV chest of drawers, crafted in Paris around the mid-18th century, bears the stamp and signature of master cabinetmaker Gian Baptiste Tuart.
This piece, of extraordinary craftsmanship, is veneered in precious rosewood and amaranth, with elegant reserve motifs and herringbone grain. The richly engraved mercury gilt bronze appliqués embellish the uprights, handles, and contoured profiles, lending the piece an elegance typical of the great Parisian cabinetmaking of the 18th century.
The original Breccia marble top in warm hues completes the sumptuous harmony of the piece.
