Icon Icon Greece circa 1650 Dionysus of Olymp

The icon is in excellent condition, completely original.
The crossbars were fixed with nails which are marked on the front side in 4 points by a slight elevation.
Time of its creation is around 1650.
The Saint stands in the middle, holding the monastery in his left hand and the pilgrim in his right hand. The background is gilded in the upper third and silver plated in the middle. The Saint was born in the late 15th century and died in 1541.
He was a healer, prophet and the founder of the Trinity Monastery.

His memorial day is January 23. Dimensions of the icon: Height 38.8 cm Width 31.5 cm Depth 2.2 cm
A similar icon is in the Museum of Byzantine Culture in Thessaloniki.
