Oil on canvas, 50 × 61 cm; with frame 62 × 72 cm

Early 19th-century portrait of a dark-haired young man, painted on its original canvas with the original stretcher. The attire reflects male fashion between the Napoleonic era and the early Restoration: a dark double-breasted coat with wide light-colored lapels, a white starched shirt with pleated front and high stiff collar, completed by a simply tied black cravat. The hairstyle, with short hair combed forward and a slightly raised lock, follows the elegant and sober taste of the period.

The giltwood frame, of the same period, complements the work with harmony. Good state of preservation, with an old patina and regular craquelure, without significant restoration.
