"Silver Chalice, France, Late 18th Century "
Chalice in formerly gilded silver, resting on a circular base profiled in an ogee and decorated with four leaves. The terrace, slightly domed and underlined with triple fillets, is decorated with radiating guilloché gadroons. The shaft is decorated with two filleted rings and an inverted pear-shaped knot, adorned with a frieze of water leaves and gadroons. The tulip-shaped cup is straight and flares out at the top. French work from the end of the 18th century, around 1787, Paris. Hallmark of the master goldsmith: Delanoy Claude-Nicolas (1766-1793, difficult to read). Height: 25 cm Diameter of the foot: 11.2 cm Maximum diameter of the cup: 8.2 cm Weight: 287 g Hallmarks present on the edge and the back of the foot. Good condition, without accidents or repairs, with wear to the gilding.
