Ceramic Vase By Paul De Bruyne, Circa 1970, Height 75cm
XXL brutalist ceramic vase, a stunning combination of glazed structures, cubist shapes, and brutalist influences, in a mix of brown, yellow, green, and blue. Made of heavy, thick clay, a unique piece from the 1970s and signed by Paul De Bruyne (Belgium 1936-2007).
Dimensions H 75cm x Diameter 50cm.
A graduate of the Saint Luke Higher Institute in Ghent, he taught at the Royal Academy and Saint Luke Institute in Oudenaarde, as well as at the Sainte-Barbara College in Ghent. De Bruyne created a body of work as a ceramist, where he also considered ceramics as an element of architecture and interior design. This led him to create ceramic artworks, utensils, ornaments, and sculptures, integrated into architecture.
