Dated 1922.Julius von Kaan-Albest was a German painter and illustrator born in Munich and died in Berlin. He was a student of the painter Anton Azbe. From 1910 he taught at the cadet school in Marburg and then at the cadet school in Vienna. During the First World War he worked as a war painter where he illustrated battles and portraits.
