Louis XV period chair stamped Claude-François DROUILLY, received master certificate July 27, 1748 Resting on curved legs finished with a foliage motif. Upholstered in large-point tapestry with floral decoration. Stamped CF DROUILLY on the reverse of the rear crosspiece of the seat. Seat height: 46 cm Dimensions: H 89 W 49 D 44 cm Claude-François Drouilly, furniture carpenter, registered his master certificates in Paris on July 27, 1748; he then lived for about twenty years on rue de Charenton, "above that of the Planchette". We owe him some good Louis XV chairs in carved walnut, which bear the CF DROUILLY mark.
