"View Of Italy (fiesole) By Georgette Agutte"
Oil on cardboard painted on the motif representing a view of Fiesole from a height. Signed, located and dated 1912 lower left, it was painted by Georgette Agutte (1867-1922) during one of her trips to Italy. Better known for her collection of paintings built with her husband Marcel Sembat including among others paintings by Henri Matisse and bequeathed to the Museum of Grenoble, she was also a painter, student of Gustave Moreau and friend of André Derain, Paul Signac, Kees van Dongen and Henri Matisse. She committed suicide a few hours after the death of her husband. The painting is framed in a natural wood frame from the early 20th century.
