"Spelter Fireplace Surround With Putti Decoration – 19th Century"
Charming fireplace set consisting of a central covered vase and two side vases, in patinated and gilded spelter, with a rich decoration of winged putti. The central vase, baluster-shaped, is supported by three kneeling putti on a finely chiseled base with scrolls and shells. The side vases each feature a putto holding a vase decorated with floral garlands. The whole is worked in the Louis XV style, with lovely contrasts between the dark patina of the vases and the gilded elements. French work from the second half of the 19th century, in the style of decorative garnitures popular under the Second Empire, combining elegance and refinement. Condition: Good overall condition, beautiful patina, light wear to the gilding and small signs of use consistent with age. Decorative piece ideal for adorning a fireplace, a console table or a sideboard in a classical style interior
