Entirely in brass. The base of the bomb is bordered at the front and back by a band decorated with moldings in relief at the front, and laurel branches at the back. Movable visor stamped in relief with two crossed axes linked together by a ribbon framed by laurel branches. Neck cover encircled by a rush folded astride its outer edge. Crest with fins stamped with ten gadroons with a mask decorated with a flaming bomb, it is topped with a black horsehair chenille. Brass front plate, model 1852, stamped with an imperial eagle holding in its talons the spindle of Jupiter sparkling on a radiant background surmounting a coat of arms struck with a naval anchor surrounded by crossed axes with oak and laurel branches, a ribbon bearing the inscription "SAPEURS POMPIERS DE LA MARINE". Brass chinstraps composed of two chin straps with rosette: each chin strap is composed of a brass plate stamped with scalloped scales in relief, mounted on leather, round rosette stamped with gadroons in relief. Plume holder with square section decreasing towards the bottom.
France. Early Second Empire. Good condition, some very light spray paint marks, missing the pen holder tightening screw, rebuilt inner cap.
