Samuel FRÈRE (1846-1931) Breton landscape with pine trees circa 1900 oil on canvas 43 x 61 cm signed lower right 'S. Frère' stamp on the back P. Lambin 47, rue de la République Rouen, Dejonghe Dumont Successeurs. A landscape painter of the Rouen school, who also painted in Brittany, Samuel Frère became a member of the Société des Artistes Français in 1909. The Rouen museum holds his painting 'Le cap Hernu'.
