18th Century Venetian Gondola Chair

A truly high-quality museum piece. 18th-century Venetian gondola chair with original polychromy. As always, the gondola was used as a means of daily transport in Venice for centuries. In the 18th century, the elite used it and were thus transported to their destination. This type of chair was intended for an important person who could place their personal belongings in the compartment under the seat during the journey. Beautiful paintings on the back and sides. Among others, angels, geese, and flowers. Upholstered in the original leather. We have left it as is for the sake of originality. But we could also have it reupholstered in leather if you wish, or try to find a suitable address for leather restoration. Finished all around with decorative nails.
