Châttelrault Dagger For Corsica
Châttelrault dagger produced for Corsica with a 2-edged blade, a groove on the central edge and a long engraved ricassot with a cartouche marked on one side anno and on the other 1561 (historical date). The guard consists of a notched oblong part then 2 foliage quillons ending with hooks towards the bottom. Micro-studded ebony handle with insertion of 4 guilloché iron wires. Engraved metal pommel ending with a ball. Metal scabbard engraved on the top and on the rivet, hanging ring. Châttelrault, second part of the 19th century. Excellent condition.
