Alfred Arthur Brunel-Neuville (or Brunel de Neuville), born in Passy on December 8, 1852[1] and died in Sèvres on February 5, 1941[2], is a French genre painter, author of still lifes and paintings of animals, notably cats. He was a pupil of Léon Brunel. In 1909, he exhibited Young Cats and Peaches and Grapes in Nîmes[3]. He then lived at 35, rue de Meudon in Billancourt. In 1912, he presented Raisins et pommes at the Salon de Dijon[4]. He taught painting to his daughter Marie Yvonne Laur, known as Yo Laur, who specialized in animal painting.
