"Gambey à Paris & Médaille D’or Pons 1827 - Gilded Bronze Clock "
Gilt and patinated bronze clock surmounted by an angel drawing. Enamel dial signed "Gambey in Paris" and the mechanism signed "Médaille d'Or Pons 1827". This clock is complete, in good condition and has its beautiful original gilding. Please note - a small revision is expected PONS Pierre-Honoré (born December 4, 1773 in Paris; died January 13, 1851 in Paris), known as PONS de Paul. Son of Pierre-César and Catherine Chemin, rue Mouffetard (1773). In 1798, he worked as a watchmaker for Pierre-Basile and Jean-Joseph Lepaute. In 1803, at the age of 30, he set up as a watchmaker on rue de la Huchette in Paris, near Place Saint-Michel. He exhibited in Rouen in 1809 and obtained silver medals in 1819 and 1823 and gold medals in 1827, 1839 and 1844.
