"Kazakh Kilim. Circa 1880. 240 X 167 Cm"
Seductive Kazakh kilim with mirrored ram horn patterns. The piece is powerful in its minimalist composition in wide horizontal bands and yet so soft and warm with a harmony of totally mastered hues. The indigo blues are dense and saturated, the reds luminous and deep. Note the subtle presence of a delightful and rather rare or unexpected Champagne shade which completes the picture. Yes, the work has a striking pictorial aspect, it is an ocean of colors to be positioned on the floor. In an ultra compact format. Wool on wool. The weaving is fine and precise. We also find in the plant shades all the know-how of Kazakh productions of this period. Late 19th century, Circa 1880. Very good general condition, some old and well-executed restorations. One or two small stains on the back of the piece. Dim: 240 x 167 cmLaurentBeauty of Kilims
