Here, the viewer is immediately struck by the brilliance of the colors: red, orange, purple and yellow tulips burst from a slender vase, in a composition that is both structured and spontaneous. The subtly worked light makes each petal vibrate and gives the whole a chromatic intensity worthy of the greatest colorists of his time. On the left, a bluish cup adorned with a white ribbon and a piece of music placed in the foreground enrich the scene with an intimate and poetic dimension. This work does not simply represent a bouquet: it transcends it. Ogier succeeds in transforming a familiar subject into a true celebration of color and harmony. In this research, she follows in the footsteps of the great French masters of the 20th century: the constructive rigor of Braque, the decorative elegance of Matisse, the luminous freshness of Dufy, but also the chromatic freedom inherited from the Fauvist of Othon Friesz, her master. The decorative interest of this painting is undeniable: with its generous format (92 x 60 cm), its vivid and balanced colors, and its timeless modernity, it is capable of transforming an interior by bringing it warmth, refinement, and radiance. It is a work that attracts the eye, captures the light, and engages with the great names of modern French painting. Provenance This work comes directly from the studio of Marie Louise Ogier, dispersed at the request of her family. It belongs to a rare and unpublished collection of personal works, including portraits, landscapes, and floral compositions. Preserved for several decades in the family home, these canvases formed the daily decor of the artist and her descendants. Their rarity on the market, combined with their intimate character, makes them particularly sought-after pieces.
