The grips are diamond-shaped.

Auguste Bassy
He was born in Pau on October 5, 1816; his father was a bookbinder. He was a former student of the Arts et Métiers d'Angers school of arts and crafts. He was first a stationer and bookbinder, like his father, then a licensed bookseller on May 5, 1843. His talent as a designer earned him several awards at exhibitions in Toulouse and Bordeaux. He owned the Hôtel de Bayard located at 2 Place Royal in Pau in 1846. Built in 1640, it was remodeled in the early 18th century by Antoine de Bayard.
Bassy ceased his professional activity in 1876.
