Julien Jacques LECLERC (1887-1972) "Nude with black lace" Pastel Art Deco period Dimensions: pastel 62.5 x 87 cm frame 69 x 93 cm Born in Le Mans on February 10, 1885 and died in Villemoison on October 18, 1972. His real name is Julien Alphonse Leclerc, a French designer and painter. He studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. From 1918 onwards, he worked very regularly with newspapers and magazines: La Vie Parisienne, La Baïonnette, Le Sourire, Paris Plaisirs, Bagatelle, Fantasio, Le Rire, L'Esprit de Paris, L'Illustration etc ... He exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Français (paintings, pastels) and also at the Salon des Humoristes from 1920 to 1935 (humorous drawings). He also illustrated many popular (collection Fama, La Parisienne, La Belle Aventure, Bibliothèque d'Eve, Tallandier, Baudinière, Hachette etc.) and creates superb illustrations and covers for erotic and spy novels. His association with Roger Dermée allows him to use his talent on dozens of editions. He signs Julien Jacques Leclerc, Jacques Leclerc, Jacques, JL or JIHEL.
