Hang Hong Naga, sacred and protective decorative element of Buddhist temple. Carved wood, vestiges of colors and mica inlays. Kingdom of Siam, end of the Ayuatthaya period (Late 18th century) It is found at the lateral ends of temple roofs (lower edges of gables or at the ends of the lateral rafters) and it is almost always below the chofa. The Hang Hong is an element sculpted in bas-relief while the chofa is often in the round.
