In 1952 Capron bought a disused pottery in Vallauris (former culinary pottery factory of Font des Horts) and there, with seven workers, produced objects for gift shops as well as decorative panels (from 1955 he began the production of earthenware tiles and tables). Also in 1955, Capron married Jacqueline Hubin, known as "Jacotte", who became his collaborator. His creations were recognized and rewarded, including a gold medal in 1954 at the 10th Milan Triennale.
