Améglio, born October 4, 1897 in San Remo (Italy) and died July 29, 1970 in Paris, is an Italian painter, engraver, lithographer and illustrator. He spent his childhood in the south of France, where he developed a passion for painting by observing the artists of the Riviera.
Settled in Montmartre, he enrolled in the School of Paris and frequented the artistic circles of the French capital. He regularly exhibits at the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon d'Automne.
Améglio is primarily known for his landscapes, city scenes, and seascapes. His works reflect his travels throughout Europe, particularly in France, Italy, and Spain. He also produced illustrations for books and magazines.
Merio Améglio's style is in the Post-Impressionist tradition, with a personal touch marked by a vibrant color palette and a dynamic feel. He is particularly appreciated for his depictions of Paris, particularly the districts of Montmartre, the Marais, and the banks of the Seine.
