Original painted wooden frame. Frame dimensions: 60 x 50 cm.
Gouache dimensions: 45 x 34 cm. Signed.
Label on the back: Work exhibited in 1993 at the retrospective "Hommage à Jules Boulez" at the Oudenaarde town hall.
Jules Boulez (Vive-St-Eloi, 1889 - Oudenaarde, 1960) First rudiments in painting in the Charrier studio in Paris (1910 - 1912), then training at the Academy of Ghent with Jean Delvin and George Minne (1912 - 1914). After his marriage, he settled in Oudenaarde in 1916. Started with impressionist landscapes and then painted large nudes and very colorful still lifes as well as post-expressionist but dry and solidly constructed landscapes. Evolves towards cubist and abstract works.
