19th century oil on canvas depicting a basket of flowers. Signed lower left B. Mouchette. Berthe Mouchette (Forcalquier 1846- Breteuil sur Iron 1928), French painter. A student of Félicie Schneider, she emigrated to Australia in 1881. From 1882, she exhibited at the Academy of Victoria. She founded the Alliance Française in Melbourne with her sister. Her paintings are kept at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne. (Bénézit). Painting relined and restored. 58 x 48 cm.
