Alexis Kreijder (1839-1912)
Painting, oil on canvas by the famous Alsatian painter Alexis Kreyder who signed Kreijder representing a view of nature with flowers, foliage, butterflies and beetle.
Dated 1875, I think, the last number is difficult to see, see photo please.
Some old restorations and repainting, satisfactory general condition, some wear to the gilding of the frame.
The sale price takes into account the condition report.
Beautiful harmony of colors and great finesse of execution, the background appears almost golden with good lighting while it is indeed a painting. Beautiful presence.

A painter renowned for his still lifes of flowers and fruit, Alexis Kreyder was a pupil of Eugène Laville (1814-1869) in Strasbourg in 1855, then of Georges Zipélius (1808-1890) and Fuchs associated in Mulhouse.
He moved to Paris in 1859 and worked for two to three years for industry.
Between 1863 and 1864 he worked for Théodore Rousseau in Barbizon to help him with his decorative work for Prince Demidoff. Alexis Kreyder participated in his first Salon in 1863 and exhibited there for the next three decades.
He received medals in 1869, a 2nd class medal in 1884 and a silver medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1889.
When the official Salon split in 1890, he left the Society of French Artists to join the National Society of Fine Arts.
Alexis Kreyder was named Knight of the Legion of Honor in 1896.
Several of his paintings are in Alsatian museums, in Colmar, Mulhouse, Strasbourg and at the Musée d'Orsay.
